Howdy! How many of you plan to read Death in the Garden? How many of you have already started? Whatcha think so far???

Confession: I actually read this book a couple of months ago. I was needing something to read - and since I already had Death in the Garden on my shelf (beckoning me as unread books on my shelf tend to do), I caved. :o)

I liked it a lot and look forward to reading other peoples' thoughts about it. I will wait a few weeks before posting my comments so that I don't spoil the plot for anyone! Happy Reading!

I think I will sit this one out. But I plan on reading C.S. Lewis' _A Grief Observed_ for July! :) So I'll catch ya then... And then I have read a lot of the upcoming ones already, but I will be sure to post and re-skim through them! Happy Reading!

I might read another C.S. Lewis... I thought I already had _A Grif Observed_, but I have about 5 others of his that I have yet to read-- that way I don't have to buy a new one, I can just read one I already have...

fthluvhope: No problem sitting this one out - but maybe you can keep it in mind for a later read. I enjoyed it. And no worries about not reading A Grief Observed. Which ones do you already own? (Maybe I can suggest one that I've already read so at least you and I can comment back and forth on it?) To clarify: have you ever read A Grief Observed? Again, if you haven't, maybe later: it's a classic and gives MUCH to ponder.

Ok so I really enjoyed this book! I went a little out of turn and read this before ten-year-nap! but I'm so glad I did!
It is a GREAT read! For most of it I changed into my swimmer and tanned my little self while my baby b slept! It was a great escape and I wish it wasn't over... I guess that's a good book- huh?

That IS a good book - the ones you wish would never end...and then think about for days...and then quote...and then read over and over...glad you liked it! I look forward to reading your comments.

Ok. You guys convinced me! I'm in and just ordered it... though my posts may have to wait until July...

Rissalee: For the C.S. Lewis read, I am thinking about re-reading Mere Christianity. I bet it has been 10 years since I have read it and and I am more mature in my faith and perspectives. I have also read The Great Divorce and The Screwtape Letters. I may also throw in some of his poetry for good measure... any of your own C.S. Lewis recommendations?

fth: Mere Christianity, Great Divorce, and Screwtape are all good. I'd also recommend: Narnia Chronicles, Pilgrim's Regress, 'Til We Have Faces, A Grief Observed, and (one I read every year) The Four Loves.

once again, my local library does not have this book available, and they did not find it in neighboring libraries either. it sounds like a book i could like too, but i am not into buying books. so, i will jump ahead to July's book "A Grief Observed", which i already have on my own bookshelf. maybe, with my current reading pace, i will finish it before the August book read ;-)
