YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS! I am here and I am kinda sorta reading. I have a few other things that have a higher priority than Bloggy Book Club. I know, it is a complete tragedy. But my father reminds me each time I talk with him that I must be 90% packed when he and my mom arrive next Thursday afternoon...which means, I must get busy!

all right, already! i'm reading at last! just getting going, but i am heading in the right direction - started reading today & read to page 47. i realize i am going to have to devote a lot more time to reading - but i am having a hard time fitting in the book between sleeping late in the am, cleaning house, washing & folding & putting away laundry, paying bills, cooking dinner & eating late & cleaning up the kitchen. and of course, American Idol started this week!!! i'm finding that the time to read is a luxury i have to give myself.

mjm: Your "yes" made me laugh. I realize you have some more "pressing" things to do...your dad is hysterical. How will he measure your progress? Um, sorry, Jane, that's only 87.5%. We're going back to Texas until you're ready for us here. :o)

Gigi: YAY YOU!!!! I don't think I would have read anything at all if my day sounded like yours! Lawzy. I'm tired just reading about it. Hubby asked me last night if I'd been watching American Idol. I said, "No, when was it on?" He said, "The last two nights." I had no idea. I had never even turned the tv on and instead read all night until sleep. I guess that's how I sped through. I got the idea from Little Ensor, when she said that she realized one day that if she turned the TV off, she would get more reading done. But don't get me wrong, I still have "my shows" I gotta watch!!! They're just not on right now. :o)

Rissa- Thanks for being understanding. I am hoping I will catch up once I get moved. I will have several days in between my parents leaving and beginning work. Hopefully I'll finish then!

I have no idea how he will judge my percentage of packing...I do know that if he were to walk in my aparment right now, he would not be happy. :)

I think DVR has helped save my "tv time!" Now I am no longer obligated to sit in front of the TV at 7 on Thursday, etc. I can watch my shows whenever I want... which I find has helped me cut back on my TV time because I only watch what I record... less "veg" and "channel surfing" that way... And if I need to read, I know I will still be able to watch the show-- just later (with skipped commercials! yah!)

I've started finally... last night. I'm planning to read some more tonight... hopefully I'll get more than 2 pages in before I fall asleep.

Love the book by the way. It's just my kind of dry every day humorous living.
